The Governing Body wish to appoint an inspirational and creative Deputy Headteacher to play a pivotal role, here at Rednal Hill Junior School, in pupil, staff and school development. This exciting and dynamic role requires a passionate and visionary practitioner who is committed to driving school improvement and establishing excellence for all. The leadership position will require a motivational innovator who strives to continually develop and improve a highly inclusive community and curriculum. We pride ourselves on being a school that is committed to providing children with the very best start in life and are fortunate to work with pupils who are enthused and keen to learn. The school has been on an exciting and upward journey of school improvement over the last few years, and we see our Good Ofsted judgement, in September 2023, as a springboard to even greater success. We are now seeking an inspiring leader that will join our dedicated team in continuing our drive for excellence on our journey to outstanding.
The candidate will already be able to demonstrate:
- evidence of vision, innovation, initiative and leadership in managing change to enhance and raise standards at a whole school level
- a comprehensive understanding and a passion for improving the lives of the most vulnerable.
- substantial evidence of successfully line managing staff to improve outcomes for all
- an ability to communicate effectively at all levels to ensure positive outcomes for all
Job purpose
Under the direction of the Headteacher:
- support the Headteacher in the day-to-day management of the school
- be a driving force in the school leadership team. The school thrives on its collaborative leadership approach designed to secure the achievement of the school’s strategic priorities
Have a significant impact on:
- the quality of teaching, learning, progress and experiences of our most vulnerable pupils who may experience difficulties at any given time in their school career
- the wellbeing of this group to ensure they are understood and catered for to the best of our ability
- be the named lead for safeguarding and behaviour and attitudes
- lead the Inclusion Team, to support the successful implementation of the above, including line management of:
- SENDCO
- Senior Learning Mentor
- Learning Mentors (x2)
- DSLs
Lead:
- on pupils’ personal development across the school
- the transition process from Y2 to Y3 and Y6 to Y7
- attendance team
- keep up to date with developments in education
- seek training and continuing professional development to meet own needs
