Willingdon Primary School is looking for an exceptional Deputy Headteacher to join the Leadership Team from September 2024.

Willingdon Primary School is a rapidly improving school committed to getting the best from all staff and gaining excellent outcomes for all children. We have a proven track record of developing our staff and working in a collaborative way within the school and in partnership with other schools.

The school is in an exciting phase of development, and we need a passionate Deputy to support the Headteacher and SLT to drive school improvement.

The successful candidate will deliver an exciting first-class learning experience for all our pupils. The post carries specific responsibility for curriculum and assessment, together with a Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibility. Although there is no class teaching commitment, the post holder will be expected to provide cover for lessons as required, including cover for other Leaders.

This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with the leadership skills and ambition to work within a flourishing school. Experience within a similar, dynamic Leadership team is essential for this post.

The successful candidate will:

  • Share responsibility for the day-to-day running of the school, assisting the Headteacher in the effective administration and management of the school.
  • Promote the positive ethos of the school, fostering a welcoming, lively, safe and effective learning environment.
  • To assist in the promotion, direction and oversight of high standards of teaching and learning, pupil achievement and progress.
  • Inspire and motivate colleagues and contribute to the professional development of all members of the school community.
