Job description

Brook Street are working along the with NHS, who are a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering high-quality emergency medical services to our community. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Support Manager to join our team and contribute to the success of our Emergency Department (ED), Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU), Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), and Minor Injuries Unit (MIU).

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £21.67 ph

Hours: 37.5 (Temporary)

Position Overview:

As an Operations Support Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Operations Managers in ensuring that the care and services provided by our emergency medical units meet the highest quality standards, aligning with both local and national requirements. Your primary focus will be on internal operations, driving the achievement of key objectives and targets set by the Directorate and the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Management: Manage the designated service areas, overseeing the delivery of key targets while efficiently utilising budgeted resources.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic and annual business planning for the service areas, engaging with senior medical and other staff as needed.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate the planning, development, and implementation of service improvement, capital, and other projects within your designated areas.
  • Clinical Governance: Administer clinical governance processes to uphold quality standards and assist in managing risks effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Provide cross-cover support across the Directorate as required, ensuring seamless operations and collaborative working relationships.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in healthcare operations management, preferably in emergency medical services.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement processes.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage senior staff in strategic planning.
