Luton’s Child and Educational Psychology Service is a dynamic and responsive service in the heart of our community. As well as providing statutory functions for the local authority, the service has been successfully trading with educational settings and local authority partners (e.g., Virtual School, Social Care, Youth services) over a number of years, with a focus on providing early, targeted support. We are excited to be building on this to provide greater access to children and young people and their families through increasing our community support, alongside multi-disciplinary innovative projects and training initiatives.
The team is located within the Education Service of the Children, Families and Education Directorate and maintains strong relationships with local area partners, which means we are well placed to support local area multi-disciplinary prevention, and early intervention initiatives. We are a diverse, friendly and creative team who are highly regarded by our council, schools and community partners.
Luton is a vibrant, multi-cultural town. Schools are inclusive and there is a strong emphasis on providing local provision for all Luton’s children. The Service supports trainees, provides opportunities for Educational Psychologists to develop specialist interests, protects supervision, and continued professional development time.
