Deputy Residential Manager
Full-time permanent position
Location: Newcastle, Walbottle
Salary: Negotiable, very competitive salary, dependent on experience.
We are recruiting on behalf of a non-maintained special school and charity for children with complex needs specialising in Social Emotional Mental Health Needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder, some with multi diagnosis.
The role of the Deputy Manager is to support the Registered Manager to create a solid foundation. They must be committed to building a culture in the home that matches the organisations ethos and values. The successful candidate will assist the Registered Manager, deputising in their absence, to take the lead in maintaining the high standards we have set. You will be dynamic, forward thinking and skilled in supporting young people with complex needs. You will demonstrate high aspirations for the children to successfully manage the five bedroom children’s home. With strong communication skills and an awareness and sensitivity of dealing with the issues surrounding a challenging environment, the successful applicant will demonstrate a natural passion for working with the care that we provide to our young people. The Deputy Manager will also ensure the staff thrive to meet their potential and are seen as positive role models.
Desirable candidate qualities:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working within a successful residential children’s home ideally with experiences of supervising or managing staff.
- Full UK driving license.
- Access to their own vehicle.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership/ Management for Health and Social care or willing to work towards this qualification.
