About the role:

We are now looking for a Deputy Safeguarding Lead to join our safeguarding team to provide management support covering all Surrey colleges. Working with our Designated Safeguarding Lead, they'll line manage the Safeguarding Advisors and Transition and Retention Advisers within their geographical area.

You will act as a point of escalation for your team, providing support to your colleagues and students with referrals, intervention strategy planning, modelling best standard practices in line with safeguarding policies and procedures, and liaising with external agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure the most appropriate action is taken.

What do you need to be successful as a Deputy Safeguarding Lead at Activate Learning?

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and an excellent understanding of the safeguarding policies, procedures, and regulations in education, previous experience of working in a similar role with children and young adults and a level 3 qualification or above and have completed Advanced Safeguarding training in the last two years.

You'll need a person-centred approach, utilising empathy and non-judgmental behaviours to build rapport and trust in individuals to assess whether they are at risk of harm from others or themselves.

A full UK driving licence is essential as you will be expected to travel between colleges regularly.
