It's an incredibly exciting time to be joining this hospital as they’re currently in the process of expanding the hospital and will be soon opening a brand-new, purpose-designed Elective Orthopaedic Centre comprising of a state-of-the-art endoscopy suite, imaging services, an additional 2 theatres for orthopaedic cases (taking the hospital from 4 to 6 theatres in total), 7-day case rooms and additional inpatient beds. As a key member of the theatre management team, you will be responsible for supporting with setting up the new Orthopaedic Centre from scratch. You will have the autonomy to build your team from the ground up. You will also take charge of the compliance for the department including policy writing, dealing with CQC, promoting & embedding best practices.
In this full-time Deputy Theatre Management role, you can expect to:
- With a grounding in governance and focus on patient care, work closely with the Theatre Manager to ensure the theatre team deliver excellent services to your patients and ensure high levels of patient safety.
- With a highly visible approach, you will forge positive strong relationships with the management team, clinical leads, consultants, and wider workforce and be encouraged to support in growing and developing the services.
- Empower your team to have the confidence in making the right decisions, independently. Employee recruitment, engagement and retention must be high on your agenda.
- Ensure the department is compliant with all regulatory requirements required.
- Provide highly visible leadership to your theatre team, forging good relationships and bringing the team on board with future developments to the department.
To exceed within this role, you will also require the following:
- Strong clinical governance skills.
- Experience working within the private hospital sector.
- Good business acumen including a solid understanding of theatre utilisation.
- A proven track record recruiting, training and maintaining a theatre team.
