Job description

The role We are seeking a Deputy Trial Coordinator (DTC) to work across a portfolio of studies. This post offers an excellent opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team of over 100 staff within in Bristol Trials Centre, a UKCRC register clinical trials unit at Bristol University. The DTC works as part of a team, to deliver a portfolio of trials and deputises for the Trial Coordinator (TC) where required. As part of a team, they contribute to all aspects of trial management, through all stages, from set-up to close down ensuring trials are delivered within the proposed timeframe and in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) What will you be doing? Undertake delegated duties to ensure the efficient management, closure, archiving and dissemination of the trial in accordance with study protocols and standard operating procedures. Liaise with NHS staff, ranging from clerks to consultants, to facilitate recruitment, participant retention and prospective, accurate and complete data collection. Provide first-line support for trial-related queries from local research teams and centres, directing these enquiries to others where appropriate. Deliver training to trial delivery staff, assist with site initiation visits and greenlighting of sites ensure sites resolve any queries and are closed down appropriately. Take a lead on monitoring activities to ensure regulatory compliance, keeping up to date with regulatory changes and updating trial procedures/materials accordingly As part of the wider operations team maintain risk assessments, monitoring plans, data protection impact assessments and data management plans in line with relevant institutional and other policies and ensure the Trial Master Files and Trial Site Files are set-up and maintained You should apply if Experience of working in an academic/clinical research or healthcare setting Knowledge of the general principles of clinical trials, legislation, and relevant terminology Knowledge of current legislation and good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines covering the conduct of clinical trials Competence with database management systems, and in depth experience of using of Microsoft Office Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to use tact and discretion when dealing with enquiries Ability to plan and coordinate tasks, multi-tasking, prioritising and organising own workload to achieve deadlines Additional information Contract type: Open-ended with fixed funding until 28/02/2025 This advert will close at 23:59 GMT on 04/02/2024 For informal queries please contact: Jodi Taylor j.taylor@bristol.ac.uk Our strategy and mission We recently launched our strategy to 2030 tying together our mission, vision and values.
