Support the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse in her/his general management function and in the coordination of high quality services to patients and relatives.Under the direction of the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse, lead in the development of all aspects of nursing within the ward, through the professional development of nursing staff, the implementation of evidence based practice and clinical audit.Function as the principal support to the Ward Sister who has continuing responsibility, deputising when required.In particular, the post holder will have delegated responsibility for:The development and supervision of clinical practice.The assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes and standards of care.The teaching and supervision of nursing staff and health care support workers.The post holder as a Senior Nurse will contribute to the MPH Co-coordinator on-call rota as required..
