Derivatives Oversight Analyst

My client, a leading financial services company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Derivatives Oversight Analyst to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities:

• Manage daily derivative operations, ensuring adherence to market and regulatory deadlines and best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and third-party providers to effectively manage asset services activities.
• Monitor and reconcile daily collateral positions and ensure sufficient liquidity availability for margin calls.
• Assist in the delivery of agreed retained services for the respective service area.
• Monitor service delivery KPIs and escalate any issues accordingly.
• Investigate and resolve queries/issues, escalating as necessary.
• Identify control weaknesses and recommend and implement procedural and process changes.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of operational tasks and processes.
• Create and update procedures to support asset services processes and activities.
• Manage operational risk and issues within the team and with outsourced providers.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in control effectiveness and efficiency.
• Participate in service provider updates and contribute to the risk management function.
• Maintain competence and fitness and propriety standards required by regulators.

Desired Skills:

• Excellent investment background, preferably within a Life Insurance company, Investment Manager, or Consultancy supporting BPAs.
• Experience managing relationships with third parties and Investment Managers.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Good presentation, delegation, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong planning, organising, and project management skills.
• Knowledge and experience of the asset management/investment industry.
• Understanding of life assurance and pensions business, with knowledge of bulk purchase annuities desirable.
• Familiarity with the regulatory environment and industry awareness in the UK.
• Strong customer, stakeholder, and people management skills.
