Overview

The PepsiCo Design Director, Global Licensing and Merchandise is a multidisciplinary role that will lead a design and production team responsible for the creation and execution of lifestyle product for our Beverage & Food portfolio. Successful candidates will demonstrate superior ability to infuse design thinking in all aspects of product creation from design concept to execution.

This role will not just design, but also architect the visual identity of PepsiCo branded lifestyle product in partnership with internal stakeholders across Brand Design, Marketing, and Business functions. This means planning, organizing, and implementing consistent design principles and production processes to ensure strategic goals are achieved with quality and efficiency.

Oversight includes three lines of business: Licensing, Partnerships/Collaborations, and Premiums. The selected candidate will support brand engagement and organically inspire consumers to create meaningful content for the organization’s portfolio of brands through product. Additionally, this platform will generate pride for our PEP associates around the world.

Responsibilities
  • Own and champion the visual identity for PepsiCo branded lifestyle product internally with crossfunctional teams and externally with partners.
  • Captain the entire design and production process from mood, concept, and palette to final production and delivery.
  • Manage capabilities of production agencies as well as suppliers directly, helping to guide key decisions around sampling, costing, and execution.
  • Partner with Licensing team and external agencies to ensure timely style guide delivery and design/product approvals for licensees.
  • Support business development efforts via creation of custom pitches for prospective licensees and collaboration partners.
  • Offer thought partnership with brand design, brand marketing, and licensing on partnerships, activations, and product.  
  • Organize team resources and priorities to manage simultaneous projects and launches across the portfolio.
  • Synthesize data and strategies with product design to achieve goals with precision and quality, influencing key stakeholders along the way.
  • Serve as the expert voice of fashion, culture, and trend for PepsiCo design.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $122,300 - $242,700 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 25% of annual salary paid out annually and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
  • Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of cross-category apparel design and development expertise (luxury experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of other accessories categories (leather goods, footwear, jewelry, home, etc.)
  • Ability to direct concept, material, and graphic direction for all product areas
  • Design Degree or Apprenticeships to supplement on-job training
  • Strongly-tapped into culture across runway, streetwear, and beauty trends
  • Technical design programs knowledge (i.e. Adobe, CAD) a plus
  • Global design experience
  • Extraordinary design taste and skill
