Description
- Produce and improve industrial and manufacturing designs
- Ensure all design work meets industry regulations and standards
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on project development
- Troubleshoot design issues and provide effective solutions
- Take on some project engineering and work as a project manager whilst being supported by management team
- Support the creation of technical specifications and documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the company
- Stay updated on latest design software and industry trends
Profile
A successful Design Engineer should have:
- Proficient with Autodesk Inventor (latest version 2024).
- Capable within SolidWorks 2024, although not essential.
- Basic Project Management tools.
- Risk Assessment procedures for automated machinery.
- Familiarity with the Machinery Directive and other machine design-related standards to enable designs to meet UKCA and/or CE Marking requirements.
- Technical writing abilities for generating Machine Manual Documentation through the complete Design process - includes Functional Design Specifications, Software and Hardware Specifications, O&M Manuals, Risk Assessments and Factory Acceptance Testing documentation.
- Ability to follow Project Plans and operate to milestone dates.
- Fully competent in the use of Microsoft 365 (Office suite including Word, Excel, and Access).
