Are you the right person for the job?
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- 3D Modelling preferred but not essential
- Mastery of the MS Office Suite
What will your role look like?
As a Design Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of creating and shaping the future of rail systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing fully detailed design submissions
- Creating and updating GA, site layout, and P&ID drawings using AutoCAD
- Preparing manufacturing/fabrication drawings & BOM lists
- Modelling piping systems for optimal performance
- Obtaining quotations from external supply chain
- Preparing and submitting Network Rail Forms 1, 2 & 3 or other formats as required
- Preparing O&M manuals and Installation manuals
- Writing technical content for O&M manuals
- Defining Technical Workscopes for Client/Internal Projects
- Specifying technical Workscopes for suppliers
- Preparing inspection and test plans, as well as testing and commissioning plans
- Assisting with initial tender design submissions
- Assisting and preparing tender submissions, including visiting customer sites and offices as required
- Responding to technical queries throughout tender and contract deliverables
- Visiting customer sites to carry out surveys
- Visiting suppliers for equipment sign-off
- Visiting customer sites during testing & commissioning for verification sign-off
