Design Engineer - Groundworks

Design Engineer - Groundworks required for our client who are a UK wide supplier of Scaffolding, access and groundworks products. The company are recruiting for an ambitious Design Engineer - Groundworks providing a link between the engineering and commercial functions.

The ideal candidate will have experience of designing temporary works and ideally excavation support. In addition, being ambitious, self-sufficient, and motivated are requirements. You will be joining a team who are pushing the boundaries and continually developing. The Groundworks Engineer will be preparation / checking of temporary works and groundworks designs, attending meetings as well as understanding, and managing key projects, presenting to customers among others.

Design Engineer - Groundworks Position Overview

• Production of temporary works and groundworks designs and drawings.
• Undertaking occasional checking of designs and drawings
• Undertaking Calculations
• Link between engineering and commercial functions.
• Engineering advice and guidance at site or office meetings.
• Building relationships with key customers and individuals.
• Develop new relationships as and when required.
• Learn the effective use of internal systems
• Attend Regional Engineering and Design meetings as required
• Assisting other areas of the business if value can be added

Design Engineer - Groundworks Position Requirements

• Minimum HNC/HND Structural/Civil Engineering
• 1-2 years' experience in temporary works
• The ability to apply knowledge and experience to temporary works solutions
• Willingness to apply engineering judgement and take responsibility
• A basic understanding of legislation such as CDM 2015
• Working knowledge of Design Software's (Support IT / AutoCAD)
• Revit experience desirable but not essential
• A professional manner with excellent communication and people skills
• The candidate must be keen to complete their professional qualifications from the outset a minimum EngTech professional recognition with the ICE / IStructE

• Salary up to £55K
