Design Engineer- New Products

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Norwich
Salary: 35-44k
My client has an International reputation for high quality, precision engineered industrial slicing systems for bacon, cooked meats and cheese applications, and builds on many years of experience in the industry.
This role is for the Order Engineering Team working on adapting current designs and working closely with Production and other departments.

The Role
Create Mechanical hardware solutions per customer order.
Custom-make customer orders to meet engineering and customer specifications if required.
To maintain accurate and up-to-date drawing records
To work in accordance to guidelines, ISO 9001 and relevant standards (e.g. CE)
Actively participate & support creation of the integration of a customer solution according to the agreed protocol.
Follow through all work to customer installation and find fast solutions to problems encountered. This may involve occasional travel worldwide, generally not more than two weeks at a time.
Ensure that all work is done in full consultation with Innovation, Production and Services staff, i.e. teamwork.
Agree objectives and performance standards and report progress against these objectives as agreed.
Undertake other tasks as may reasonably be requested and accept other roles in the future, within the department or company, that are commensurate with your knowledge and abilities.
Skills/Experience
39 hours a week and will involve a small amount of international travel to sites (most probably America)
Experience required preferably this industry, but transferable skills are fine.
2-3 years experience.
Salary 35k to 44k dependant on skills and experience.
