Design Engineer (Outside IR35)

We are seeking skilled and passionate Test Engineers to join us in shaping the landscape of electro-mobility. As a global engineering consultancy, our client specialises in designing, developing, and integrating electrified powertrain systems and advanced internal combustion engines.
Roles & Responsibilities:
As a Design Engineer specialising in Automotive Systems, you will play a crucial role in creating innovative schemes and layouts, detailing the design of components and systems with a keen consideration for manufacturing and assembly requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies, designing engine components, systems, and vehicle installations.
- Execute value analysis/value engineering programs to enhance design efficiency.
- Create design drawings, incorporating geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Present design work to clients, ensuring effective communication.
- Design test parts for development testing.
- Liaise with program suppliers, internal, and external customers.
- Collaborate with other engineers in the business to ensure a cohesive approach.
- Supervise less experienced staff, providing guidance and support.
- Monitor project progress and financial position relevant to allocated tasks.
- Support the preparation of engineering program quotations.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in the field of engine component, system design, or battery systems.
- Desirable experience in one of the major CAD systems used in automotive design.
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
- Strong numerical and analytically skills.
