We undertake the role of Main/Principal Contractor within the Water, Industrial, MOD, and Power Sectors. This includes all aspects of New Build, Refurbishment, Civil Engineering and MEICA Projects.

Working closely with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Project Engineers in the generation of outline and detailed designs of process systems and equipment within the Water Industry.
Main Purpose of Job
As a Design Manager your duties will include but not be restricted to:
Full management of the Design Team throughout a project and during the full construction process to maximise opportunities and mitigate risk, monitoring the process and providing updates to the Project Manager and Director.
Undertaking design review and option analysis, providing Value Engineering input where applicable.
Interrogation of tender and construction stage quotations and management of sub-contractor workshops.
Managing the design relationship between the client, design consultants, designing sub-contractors and internal design team whilst acting as a point of contact on design matters.
Ensuring compliance by the Company and all design consultants/sub-contractors are within the scope of CDM regulations.
Ensuring designs are complete and on time including drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Having input into all statutory requirements such as Planning and Building Control.
Conducting site visits where needed to locate grading markers and collect data.

To have sufficient breadth of technical knowledge and experience to be able to effectively lead and manage the design process, ensuring all design requirements and details are accurate and circulated.
To be able to produce, read and interpret design and construction programmes.
To have good team interaction and be an effective communicator, able to engage with senior stakeholders.
To have detailed understanding of construction technology, buildability and tender design requirements.
To have a sound understanding of design regulations

Qualifications and Training
A degree/equivalent qualification (HNC/HND)
Have at least five years’ experience in the Design Manager role
May concider someone wanting to progress to this position
Experience within the water industry an advantage but not necessarily
Duties & Responsibilities:
Leading and building a multi disapline design team
Detailed design and development of Plant and Equipment.
Concept and detailed design of new Plant and Equipment.
Creation of technical specifications / documentation for the selection and development of equipment.
Working to product design standards.
Working to departmental design procedures.
Provide internal technical product support.
Complete asset data information on projects, collect from engineers and site
