Job description

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a proactive Desk Support Engineer to join their dynamic team. The Desk Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to their clients remotely, ensuring the smooth operation of their fire and security systems. The company is based in the Watford area, so the ideal candidate will live within a commutable distance of the offices.

Location: Watford, United Kingdom

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide remote technical support to clients for fire and security systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries via phone, email, or remote access tools, and resolve technical problems efficiently.
  • Diagnose and resolve system faults and escalate complex issues to the appropriate level of support when necessary.
  • Assist clients with system configuration, software updates, and user training as needed.
  • Document all support interactions, solutions provided, and system configurations accurately in the company's CRM system.
  • Collaborate with field engineers and other departments to ensure timely resolution of client issues and effective communication of updates.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in fire and security technologies to continuously improve support services.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in technical support or a similar role, preferably within the fire and security industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control systems, and other security technologies.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively to clients.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing high-quality support services.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
