DESPATCH OPERATIVE

PERMANENT – 3 SHIFT PATTERN – MON TO FRI

CARDIFF

STARTING £11.55 - £13.81 per hour

Main Purpose of Role:

To ensure all orders are loaded and dispatched correctly, OTIF and the corresponding paperwork is checked and completed accurately.

Main Responsibilities:

• Load product in a prompt manner, communicating relevant information to the Dispatch Team leader.
• Liaise with Dispatch Team Leader to organise workload and priorities
• Liaise with Production Team Leaders to resolve any issues that may arise in relation to unsatisfactory product
• Load vehicles as required, ensuring “zero” loading / delivery damage
• Preparation of all finished goods in conjunction with the companies packaging procedures. Ensuring stock levels are above minimum quantities.
• Communicate with haulers in relation to deliveries
• Ensure load photos are taken of all products leaving site.
• Ensure smooth running of deliveries, collection, customer returns, customer collections, adhering to all relevant procedures flagging issues to the Dispatch Team leader
• Make recommendations to improve on performance / procedures.
• Yard management is key. Allocating finished goods in their correct location and updating the system accurately in a timely manner.
• Ensuring the yard is always clear of debris.
• Any other reasonable tasks assigned by your manager or TL
• Responsible for following all company procedures and policies in line with our compliance management system and to report any concerns of noncompliance immediately
• Responsibility for taking reasonable care of yourself and others who may be affected by your actions or omissions.  You must follow all instructions and training given to you and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures at all times.

Skills and Attributes:

• Understanding of Dispatch processes
• Experience of working within a manufacturing environment (desirable)
• Communication skills
• Prioritisation skills
• Experience of using computer systems, emails, logging paperwork, SAP knowledge desirable  

Qualifications:

RTITB Forklift licence OR Combilift license

Hours of Work and Pay:

This is a 3-shift position on a 3-week rotational basis.

6am-2pm Monday to Friday (week 1)

2pm-10.00pm Monday to Friday (week 2)

10pm-6am Sunday to Thursday (Week 3)

£11.55 per hour                Level 1

£11.88 per hour                Level 2

£12.45 per hour                Level 3

£13.34 per hour                Level 4

10% uplift on afternoon shifts

30% Uplift on nights shifts
