The Role:
As Despatch Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the Despatch Team, ensuring all orders are assembled and despatched in line with delivery SLA’s and quality procedures are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising and motivating team members daily to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration. This includes the organising and coordinating of any additional resource required such as overtime.
- Supporting the Assistant Warehouse Manager with the individual team members’ morale, efficiency and development through regularly documented reviews and training plans.
- Managing the Despatch order book, ensuring all items are despatched in line with meeting delivery dates.
- Compiling a report of any failed despatches daily.
- Manifesting the company Delivery Van Routes ensuring all paperwork matches items being loaded onto the vans.
- Ensuring all items sent via carrier are traceable, ensuring the disciplines on tracking are adhered to.
- Working with Fulfilment and Framing in the handling & storing of the forward manufacturing items, for accurate safe & systemic storage in the department.
- Ensuring all items are packed for safe transport of items being sent internationally.
- Taking an active part in the development of the site’s systems and processes.
Key Duties:
- Prioritising workload for the despatch team, overseeing and assessing the results.
- Expediting orders for despatch into the department in a timely manner to arrive in line with SLA’s.
- Communicating any orders that did not arrive at despatch to eliminate potential late or inadequately packed deliveries.
- Ensuring all orders received are collated and despatched correctly, via the relevant carrier.
- Ensuring all orders being sent on company vans are collated, manifested and positioned correctly to aid the correct loading of vans.
- Recording KPI’s to identify expected quantity of tasks and despatches are being achieved.
- Consulting with all relevant departments to ensure that all products are moved effectively.
- Ensuring that the product is shipped safely, reducing the risk of transportation damage, including international.
- Expediting orders which are being delivered to international locations so adequate outer packing can be ordered and packed within despatch deadlines.
- Checking company drivers’ manifests match all items to be despatched. This includes items from other departments.
Your Skills:
- Proven experience in leading a team.
- Competent with IT systems.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Awareness and willingness to learn international carrier booking systems.
- Good communication skills with colleagues at all levels.
- Flexibility in start and finish times to align with operational requirements.
