The Economy Team is recruiting a Destination Management Officer to lead the delivery of the Bridgend County Borough Destination Management Plan, its resources and its work to enhance the Profile, Product and Experience of the Destination.

This will include: -

• To co-ordinate the delivery, monitoring and review of the Destination Management Plan and the Destination Action Plan to keep them fit for purpose and the destination ahead of the curve.
• Co-ordinate the delivery of an innovative Destination Profile.
• Co-ordinate the delivery of proactive Destination Products and Experiences.
• To support the role of events in the local economy by co-ordinating the delivery, monitoring and review of the Visitor Events Strategy, and co-ordinating a range of local authority and partner services.
• Co-ordinating the Multi-Agency Events Safety Advisory Group for the County Borough.
• Manage, co-ordinate and administer revenue and capital budgets, including the strategic events funding, and seek out additional resources from national and local sources.
• Develop and maintain robust evidence gathering and research processes within BCBC to ensure an evidence-based approach to the delivery of the Destination Management Plan and future projects.

The successful candidate will require a sound understanding of current conditions relating to the tourism economy and good organisational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines are also required.
