Prospectus are excited to be working exclusively with our client to help them recruit for a new Development and Grants Lead (Africa). The organisation is a marine conservation organisation that puts people first. They support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries and restore ocean life. Their work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s remote coastal communities and is growing globally. Across a dozen countries, partnering with traditional fishers and community organisations to design, scale, strengthen and sustain fisheries management and conservation at the community level.
This role is offered on a permanent basis paying a salary between £39,000 to £50000 per annum (if London based) with flexible working arrangements at any of the organisation's offices in the UK or in specific African countries as per the job description.
The post holder will be the main point of contact for Africa, and they will undertake strategic fundraising planning to produce effective strategies to achieve income targets to support the geographic area which they are responsible for. They will track progress against applications and proactively collate and analyse data trends to regularly report trends, challenges, and opportunities. The post holder will provide effective line management for other DS team members supporting countries of operation in Africa, ensuring effective delivery of fundraising income to meet organisational targets.
They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of applying for and managing funding from trusts, foundations, and institutional donors. They are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience of project and budget management such as project planning, grant management, compiling and monitoring budgets, narrative and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be aligned with Blue Ventures mission and have experience in environmental conservation.
