Development Chemist/Technician

Vibe Recruit is looking for a Development Technician / Chemist to work for a large automotive manufacturing company in the Aberdare area.

This is a full time, temporary position (minimum 6 months)

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm

Salary: £26,000 to £28,500 depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Carry out laboratory testing in accordance with company procedures
• Preparation of laboratory samples
• Follow written instructions and safe working practices
• Support R&D projects through specific test regimes
• Recording and reporting test results including deviations
• Conduct testing of materials and production/prototype samples in accordance with test procedures, customer test methods and standards.
• Preparation of laboratory reports on work carried out.
• Planning of material testing to customer specifications and quality standards.
• Support customers and internal departments with information.
• Assist investigations into process / product problems.
• Carry out the job requirements in full compliance with the Company Code of
• Conduct, internal procedures and international standards.
• Participation within the structure of the Development and Customer Support Team.
  Compliance to the health and safety policy, COSHH etc.
• Maintenance of good house-keeping within the department.

Requirements

• Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in Polymer Chemistry or related discipline (desirable).
• Experience of working in laboratories and following written work procedures and test methods.
• Good general laboratory process knowledge.
• Awareness of Regulatory compliance in line with REACH legislation, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, TS 16949 etc.
• Experience with standard Microsoft packages.
