With the UK governments net carbon zero target of 2050, Groupe Atlantic have invested in decarbonising their product range with ongoing R&D into Hydrogen Fuelled Boilers and Heat Pumps, as well as ongoing work on Traditional Gas Boilers.

Groupe Atlantic based in the city of Hull are seeking to appoint a Development Engineer to join their growing R&D Department. Based at their R&D Centre of Excellence the Development Engineer will work on NPI & continuous improvement projects to deliver market leading products. The Development Engineer will work as part of a multi-discipline team and report to the Development Section Manager.

The Development Engineer will also be responsible for:
- Contributing to continuous improvement, ensuring ongoing review of technology, processes, and outcomes
- Working with gas, hydraulic & refrigeration circuits.
- Environmental impacts and specification of thermodynamic loads.
- Improving knowledge from in-field application of low carbon products.
- Applying theoretical and practical approach to engineering problem solving & solution evaluation
- Working with third party expertise to meet NPI & CIP activities
- Participate in specified research, design & development activities
- Completing activities in full, to time and cost to meet programme requirements
To be successful in the role of Development Engineer you will have:
- Experience with gas combustion is desirable
- The ability to critical analyse problems
- A solid background in product development and innovation
- A solid understanding of thermodynamics
- Experience of setting up and operating testing rigs
- Relevant qualifications with Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, preferably HNC/HND or degree qualified
- The ability to communicate and build relationships with both internal and external teams
- Excellent relationship building skills, and a can-do attitude
- Excellent communication skills
