This is a 12-month FTC role, and we are looking for graduate and experienced candidates for this role.

What you'll do

Within our Planning Liaison team, we are proud of the quality and efficiency of our work to ensure the right solution is delivered for our customers.

We are responsible for providing accurate, relevant and timely information to developers, local planning authorities and customers on the serving of new developments. This role provides an outstanding opportunity for a Planning Liaison Engineer to have a real impact on the future investment in our sewerage and water supply services.

The role is diverse and offers a variety of responsibilities as you will:

  • carry out pre-development assessments on major developments.
  • regularly communicate with your colleagues and developers.
  • discuss the impact of proposed developments with relevant teams across the business.
  • ensure issues are identified and resolved with the best outcome for the customer and Wessex Water.
  • identify the need for any capacity improvements, as well as regularly reviewing and updating guidance and policies.

In this position, you will directly supervise a Planning Liaison Technician and assist them with their day to day enquires, with a prime focus on developing the PLT and more complex enquires.

What you'll need

As a self-sufficient Planning Coordinator, you will:

  • have a sound understanding of the development management process that contributes to sewerage and water supply services.
  • need to hold a Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • be a strong communicator and able to confidently advise on developments that you are working on.
  • need excellent written, presentation, IT and organisational skills.
