The Role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will utilise your hands-on experience to provide cloud infrastructure, design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to own the end-to-end DevOps value chain, for the project.
Key responsibilities:
- Design CI/CD pipelines, in line with standards and guard rails.
- Develop reuseable scripts and libraries.
- Configure pipelines in Jenkins/Spinnaker.
- GitHub – administration, team management, branching strategy and maintenance.
- Write terraform templates for provisioning environments in GCP.
- Configure Istio Service mesh, ingress, and egress gateways.
- Develop databases and services for functionality.
Your Profile
Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Expert level development experience in Python, Java, and SQL.
- Use of modern CI/CD tools & techniques, including significant previous experience of working with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Experience working with containers & orchestration frameworks (Docker, Kubernetes) as well as source code management and version control systems (Git/GitHub/GitLab).
- Experience working with and developing/maintaining & managing data pipelines (using Apache Airflow).
- Experience of creating & implementing tests and using automated testing frameworks, including unit & integration testing, data quality testing & assumption testing.
- Experience of Infrastructure As Code (e.g. Terraform & Ansible) & command line.
- Experience in operational monitoring and dashboarding for applications (eg. ELK, SonarQube, Prometheus, Grafana).
