SALARY: £86,965.00 - £112,541.00 GBP

LOCATION(S): Leeds

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

A great opportunity has arisen within the Mass Affluent Platform for an DevOps Engineering Lead to work with an amazing team building propositions for our Mass Affluent Digital Proposition.
As the DevOps Engineering Lead you'll be leading our teams of DevOps engineers to build and operate our infrastructure on GCP, supporting our feature teams to solve their infrastructure challenges, and helping to ensure we continue to drive automations in all of our CI/CD pipelines. You'll actively promote a culture of DevOps within the Lab and raise awareness of "what is possible" and drive the change to get us there.
Line management will be a key part of this role, helping the DevOps engineers in the teams to grow and develop. You'll also help bring DevOps practices and culture to the wider Platform environment, looking for opportunities to improve and transform the technology we use to build our applications.

A major part of the Group strategy to grow in the mass affluent market and the new Mass Affluent team are focussed on designing a new digitally led proposition for this segment of customers.

What you'll need:

You'll be someone who can contribute to the technical leadership team's work of driving the technology and future of the platform. You have technical know-how from building and operating platform infrastructure, automating build and test process through CI/CD pipelines and you'll love mentoring and educating less experienced DevOps engineers.

We're looking for a great candidate who can demonstrate:

  • an experienced DevOps Engineering Lead background with a recent focus on Kubernetes platforms. microservices, and containerisation
  • evidence of bringing new technologies and ways of working to how your organisation delivers great applications.
  • experience in end-to-end software delivery using Agile methodologies and DevOps tooling.
  • technical know-how in cloud engineering and architecture, preferably in GCP
  • the ability to build strong relationships and demonstrate a passion for solving real-world problems with data and technology.
  • great mentoring/coaching skills and a real joy for seeing people develop & succeed.
