Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Diabetes and Endocrinology Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert medical care and treatment to patients with diabetes, endocrine disorders, and related conditions. Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical care and management for patients with diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, and other endocrine conditions.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and examinations to diagnose and monitor patients' conditions, including interpreting laboratory tests and imaging studies.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practice guidelines and patient preferences.
  • Prescribe medications, hormone replacement therapy, and other therapeutic interventions to manage symptoms, optimize metabolic control, and improve overall health outcomes.
  • Monitor patients' progress over time, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and provide ongoing education and support to promote self-management and adherence to treatment regimens.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate patient care and ensure holistic and integrated services.
  • Participate in clinical audits, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care and contribute to advancements in the field of Diabetes and Endocrinology.
  • Provide mentorship and supervision to junior medical staff, trainees, and students as required.

Requirements:
  • Medical degree from a recognized medical school
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Diabetes and Endocrinology (or eligibility for registration)
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) or equivalent qualification
  • Substantial experience working as a Diabetes and Endocrinology Consultant in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide range of Diabetes and endocrine disorders across all age groups
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and promoting excellence in clinical practice
  • Strong leadership and team-working abilities, with a willingness to contribute to service development and improvement initiatives
