Job description

Location: Osney One Building, Osney Mead, Oxford, OX2 0EW The Bodleian Libraries are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual who is highly experienced in digital research methods to help deliver strategic change in its delivery of information literacy training. You will work within the Research & Learning Support (R&LS) section of Academic Library Services, which coordinates high quality services across the 26 Bodleian Libraries. You will hold responsibility for delivering three key workstreams in the Bodleian Libraries’ ambitious review of its information literacy programme: Create and deliver a digital literacy pathway for undergraduate students to develop their capacity and confidence as successful learners and critical thinkers. Evaluate artificial intelligence tools for bibliographic research, providing an authoritative voice and contributing to training and guidance. Assess how best to meet the needs of researchers undertaking text & data mining. You will develop library guidance, deliver training, and support. You will also play an active role in the Digital and Information Skills Community of Practice for library staff and develop activities to train-the-trainers. You will be educated to degree level, have proven expertise in digital research methods, be proficient in information retrieval and critical evaluation of sources, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the proven ability to work independently to a high degree of accuracy. This is a full-time, fixed-term position, working 37.5 hours per week for two years. Our staff and students come from all over the world, and we proudly promote a friendly and inclusive culture.
