Job description

The Audio-Visual Communication Technician is a key member of the Communication and Engagement team. The team operates in a busy working environment, servicing a wide range of audiences that include over 6,000 staff and volunteers, a population of 450,000 people, national broadcast and print media as well as local GPs, other health and care organisations and a range of stakeholders such as MPs, councillors and patient groups.
The Audio-Visual Communication Technician plays an important role in supporting the delivery of video communication and key digital media projects for both internal and external audiences across Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, Cornwall Partnership Foundation Trust, and the Integrated Care Board.
The job will require close working with the Audio-Visual Communication Specialist to produce corporate and healthcare related videos. In addition, there will be frequent setup and configuration of audio and video equipment to broadcast live events and engagement sessions including public board meetings, executive Q&A sessions and monthly all-staff briefings.
As part of a collaborative working arrangement between the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and the Integrated Care Board communication teams there will be a regular requirement to travel to other sites across the county to fulfil their Digital Communication requirements.
There are exciting opportunities to get involved in creating 360-degree walkthroughs of hospital sites, 360-degree videos, TV information screen videos, podcasting, radio, advertising, planning and scheduling events and more, with a continuous opportunity to learn and develop skills in digital and communication.
Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is the main provider of acute and specialist care services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. It serves a population of around 470,000 people, a figure that can increase significantly with visitors during the busiest times of the year. The Trust employs approximately 6,700 staff and has a budget of approximately £580 million.
Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target. All staff are therefore actively encouraged and supported to implement new ways of working within their field of expertise.
