Historic England have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Digital Content Analyst. You will be responsible for monitoring, measuring, evaluating and reporting on the success of our Digital Content activity. Reporting to the Digital Communities Manager, you will generate valuable insights that enable Historic England to develop content and campaigns that truly engage and inspire our audiences.

The location of this role is National where we offer hybrid working, you will be based in one of our following offices and from home - Newcastle, York, Manchester, Birmingham, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth and Cambridge. 

National £31,912 - £33,000 per annum

Cambridge £33,356 per annum

What you will be doing

Champion and support the strategic development of accurate analysis, evaluation and reporting on our Digital Content activity, including website, email, social, display advertising and integrated campaigns.  

Support the wider team in the development of skills to help define what great analytics and consistent reporting look like.

Develop and implement a programme of weekly, monthly and annual reporting on content and campaign data across all channels in order for insights to drive continuous improvement.

Produce analysis of data and trends to generate insights that allow the Content and other teams to improve their effective engagement.

Design and implement processes for monitoring, analysing and reporting on activity, helping managers shape useful KPIs.

Support managers in the Content team to develop web analytics that improve our search, find and customer journey activities.

Identify up-to-date and relevant tools to support data management and analysis and keep up to date with new developments.        .

Project management of cross-organisation community campaigns with colleagues in Public Engagement, Policy & Evidence and Regional Delivery.

Provide advice and support to colleagues across all groups on evaluation issues relating to digital communications activity.

Keeping up to date with new developments in digital communications.

Support managers to ensure we effectively collect and manage data on our engagement activities and manage risks to our reputation and brand.

Manage resources, meet and achieve continuous improvement in productivity and professional excellence.

Drive a culture of data-led decision making and continuous improvement in ROI.

Participate in national and cross-group projects which support corporate priorities and take a lead where appropriate in such projects.

Develop knowledge and understanding of all the areas of work undertaken by the group to offer an integrated service to internal and external customers.

Where necessary, working flexibly to cover strategic issues in response to changing national, organisational and group priorities.

Who we are looking for

  • Experience of detailed reporting for a wide range of activity, using analytical skills to identify trends and translate data
  • Experience of successfully evaluating content marketing programmes
  • Highly organised and able to work at pace; managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Adept at presenting complex info in an easy to digest format using a variety of tools
  • Highly numerate with a good understanding of statistical principles
  • Significant experience of working with Google Analytics, social media analytics and other tools, including segmentation and creating reports
