SALARY: £46,000 - £53,000
LOCATION(S): Edinburgh, Bristol, Manchester
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site
About this opportunity
We're recruiting a new Senior Analyst to support the Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) team, particularly looking for individuals with experience in malware analysis and reverse engineering. You'll need to have a strong technical background as well as significant and in depth knowledge of specific Cyber Security applications and processes. The candidate would also be expected to act as a Subject Matter Expert ("SME") for security incidents and provide support and guidance as required.

Key responsibilities
- Perform analysis on malware samples to break them apart to understand their true nature, find indicators of compromise (IOCs) and pre-emptively gather Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) and de-obfuscation methods prior to or during an attack, which can be fed back into detective and preventative controls
- Work with teams and colleagues from across the company to mitigate cyber security incidents, completing comprehensive and robust investigation of the case or task in hand, ensuring where an active threat has been identified that it is contained in a timely, effective manner
- Manage your own workload effectively, keeping all stakeholders engaged and updated when working on an incident, including confirming timescales of activity
- Operate within a diverse and collaborative team, with a range of backgrounds, technical skills and personalities
- Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes and procedures
- Keep yourself up to date with changes to the external threat landscape and how that impacts the team

What you’ll need
- Technical malware analysis and reverse engineering knowledge, with hands on experience with various coding and scripting languages
- Experience within a Security Operations environment, with a knowledge of threats from both internal and external sources
- Good knowledge and understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Good understanding of TCP/IP and underlying network protocols
- Diagnostic skills and an ability to analyse technical information from various sources while demonstrating strong attention to detail
- A passion for breaking sophisticated code apart to understand how it works and the risks associated
