Closing Date: 11 January 2024

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Digital Fundraising Officer.

Children’s Cancer North launched in May 2021, born from the merger of two well established regional charities: North of England Children’s Cancer Research and the Children’s Cancer Fund. Children’s Cancer North’s aim is to make life better for children with cancer. We do this in three ways; through providing direct support to children and families, investing in revolutionary research, and raising awareness of our cause.

It is an independently registered charity working in partnership with Newcastle University, funding research carried out within the Centre for Cancer, a Newcastle University Centre of research excellence.

In this role, you’ll be based at our Newcastle Upon Tyne campus that has fantastic transport links and state of the art facilities. You’ll report to our Marketing & Communications Manager and to Abigail Hewison, Head of Charity, who has been with the charity for nearly 8 years. We offer a hybrid and flexible working model.

You’ll be joining a small team which will consist of 10 employees by the end of 2024. You’ll have no line management responsibilities but may need to oversee the management of volunteers during events.

To apply for this position, we will need your CV and ideally a personal statement outlining how you are suitable for the role. Please focus your personal statement on the below points using examples where possible:

  • Creation of Digital Fundraising opportunities
  • Management of social media accounts and developing content to engage with various audiences
  • Understanding of digital analytics and how you have used them to determine the communications strategy
  • Understanding the importance and best practice of SEO for webpage engagement
  • Experience of web design, specifically using WordPress

Both Full time and Part time applications will be considered.

This Post is tenable for 2 years initially.
