Job description

Job Overview:

The Digital Learning Developer is responsible for creating digital transformation learning programmes through the medium of eLearning, video-based media, digital resources, and assessments. Topics will vary from systems, technical content, inductions and leadership development.

Reporting to the Group Head of Learning & Organisational Development, you will be a key member of the Learning & Organisational Development (L&OD) team working closely with fellow L&OD professionals, internal & external subject matter experts, and operational colleagues.

The role will be responsible for designing high quality digital training, using various software to scope, design & execute impactful and engaging solutions.  The role will also act as a champion for our learning and competency management systems, ensuring all learning and competency products are correctly hosted, utiliused, and evidenced.

Job Responsibilities:


Propose and develop innovative Digital Learning products, including eLearning, multimedia elements, interactive assessments, scenario-based learning activities, assessments.
Adapt technical concepts and content into user-friendly and engaging Digital Learning solutions that achieve the desired learning outcomes.
Research technical content.
Support the sourcing and hosting of externally developed SCORM and Digital Learning.
Ensure solutions are user-friendly, accessible, and optimised for different devices.
Develop solutions that meet our branding guidelines, L&OD design standards and project scope.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to gain in-depth understanding of the learning topic, desired outcomes an ensuring accurate representation in the training content.
Recommend and propose suitable digital solutions that address training needs analysis findings and stakeholder requirements.
Apply a Digital Learning design process and resources ensuring the timely and efficient development of learning products.  
Use a design process to ensure digital solutions are approved by relevant parties, meet internal standards and are user acceptance tested before launch.
Translate technical information into clear and concise learning solutions that cater to various learning styles and neurodivergent learners.
Implement engaging interactions, animations, and simulations that promote active learning and retention of system-related concepts.
Utilise eLearning tools (Rise Articulate), multimedia software, and Learning Management Systems (LMS) to develop, test, and deploy products.
Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure functionality, interactivity, and accuracy.
Address any technical issues or inconsistencies that arise during the development process.
Act as champion for our learning management and competency system(s), partnering with providers and ensuring we achieve functional utilisation.
Maintain the LMS and competency systems ensuring all learning products are hosted, accessed and recorded effectively, addressing any issues or enquiries.
Respond to technical LMS and competency systems queries and requests.
Work collaboratively with the L&OD Team on relevant projects and tasks.
Manage projects and prioritise tasks to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of high-quality solutions within budget, scope and timelines.
Stay updated on industry trends and Digital Learning best practices.
Complete any additional tasks assigned by the Group Head of L&OD.
