Job description

Some remote working will be possible. The Centre for Digital Scholarship is a space and place for the Bodleian Libraries to engage, lead and shape discussions around Digital Scholarship practice and research within and beyond the University of Oxford. We are looking for someone who has experience of event planning and management, who is organised and can prioritise their own work. You will be an excellent communicator and be able to work collaboratively with staff at all levels. In this role you will have a key role in supporting a programme of events about Digital Scholarship aimed at students, researchers and members of the public. You will support the planning and delivery of online and on-site events, develop and support event communications, and you will provide excellent financial and administrative support for the Centre for Digital Scholarship team. This is a part-time, fixed-term position, working 18.75 hours per week for 3 years. We can be flexible on a working pattern incorporating up to 1 day per week working from home, when there are not events running. Some events may take place outside of normal working hours. You will be required to upload your CV and a supporting statement as part of your online application. Your supporting statement should list each of the essential and desirable selection criteria, as listed in the job description, and explain how you meet each one. CV’s on their own will not be considered. University employees enjoy 38 days’ paid holiday, generous pension schemes, travel discounts, and a variety of professional development opportunities. Our range of other employee benefits and discounts also includes free entry to the Botanic Gardens and University colleges, and discounts at University museums. See https://hr.admin.ox.ac.uk/staff-benefits  Our staff and students come from all over the world, and we proudly promote a friendly and inclusive culture. Diversity is positively encouraged, through diverse groups and champions, as well as a number of family-friendly policies, such as the right to apply for flexible working and support for staff returning from periods of extended absence, for example shared parental leave. We aim to provide a supportive working environment and are happy to discuss training and professional development opportunities. The Chair of this recruitment panel will be Megan Gooch, Digital Scholarship Manager, who can be contacted with enquiries relating to the role (megan.gooch@bodleian.ox.ac.uk). General queries about the recruitment and application process should be directed to the Recruitment team within our Human Resources department (recruitment@bodleian.ox.ac.uk). Only applications received online by 12.00 midday (BST/GMT) on Tuesday 13 February 2024 can be considered. Interviews are expected to take place on Monday 26 February 2024.
