Digital Services Infrastructure Technician
(Permanent)
We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a keen interest in new and emerging technology to provide support to students and staff in the use of ICT.
As Infrastructure Technician you will support students and staff by deploying, monitoring and maintaining robust and reliable IT systems including client devices (Windows PCs, iPads, Macs and Chromebooks), network infrastructure (switching and Wi-Fi), software and services.
You should be comfortable supporting users on a one-to-one basis; and confident to deliver training and/or presentations to groups of users.
You will be supported by the existing team members who develop the applications, and support and manage the hardware, software and network infrastructure used by students and staff throughout the college.
As you develop a wider understanding of internal systems, you will be involved in developing and implementing changes, and producing written documentation.
We understand that you may not have experience in all aspects of the role, or with the specific technologies that we use, which is why we see an avid interest in current and emerging technologies, excellent customer service skills and a willingness to develop skills as important characteristics
The successful candidate will be appointed within points 10 - 14 of the College’s Salary Structure for Support Staff, currently £25,276 - £28,549 p.a, for full time.
This is a permanent, full year role, working 37 hours per week and commencing as the successful candidate is available, following safeguarding and recruitment checks.
