Job description

An exciting opportunity is now available for a skilled individual with a passion for learning and IT/Digital Skills to help develop the digital and IT skills and capabilities of our workforce. If you have an interest in and demonstrable knowledge of IT/Digital skills, and love to help develop people, then we want to hear from you.

This is a really varied and challenging role, where you will collaborate with services all across the council, including highways, fleet and transport, social care and corporate teams, working with them to determine and support their digital learning needs. Every day will be different and the ideal candidate will provide professional advice on bespoke learning solutions, delivering high quality training in both virtual and face to face sessions.

You will also have an opportunity to develop virtual resources for our Learning Management System and SharePoint site, including e-learning, videos, and other digital learning methods.

You will deliver our digital and IT induction to all of our new starters, part of our new induction programme, ‘Your Welcome’, as well as having the opportunity to support development and delivery of the wider programme.

We are particularly interested in digitally competent, creative, and passionate applicants who have either delivered Digital Skills training or provided support to colleagues with varying levels of Digital Skills.

Who we are looking for

You will have a passion for enhancing and supporting the development of digital and IT skills within the working environment, whist also supporting the transfer of these skills into everyday lives. Developing capability in using MS Office products will be a key part of your role, as well and supporting individuals to use smartphone and laptops. Your personable approach to learning is crucial in helping others learn successfully.

The right candidate will be a self-starter with a proactive approach and good ideas. You will be adept at designing learning solutions based on sound evidence and research to ensure learning is appropriate and impactful. You will be happy to develop your own skills to help others learn.

Excellent customer service skills and a flexible approach are also key, and we are looking for someone with strong organisational and administration skills and a mindset for working flexibly across other areas and specialisms.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative service, where you can flourish in a supportive, creative, and highly productive environment, gaining valuable experience and transferable skills to carry into your career.

Applicants should have a sound transferable Learning and Development/Organisational Development mind and skill set.
