Job description

We are recruiting a Digital UX/UI Designer to sit within the Content Team reporting to the Head of Content.Within Marketing, Communication and Engagement (MCE), the Content Team creates, proofs, publishes and commissions top-class, compelling content across reading.ac.uk, related digital channels and strategically important printed products.ABOUT YOUYou will focus on improving the overall user experience (UX) and usability of our online content platforms, while ensuring a high-quality, consistent look and feel across products in line with our brand.You will join our Content Team, while also working very closely with designers in our Creative and Print Studio and front-end developers in Digital Technology Services, as well as other colleagues from across the University.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design user-centric, cross-device templates, layouts and on-page components to use across our websites and digital channels, giving them a consistent look and feel in line with our distinctive brand. Incorporate user research, interaction data, and UX best practice into your work, so that the solutions you design meet user requirements and have the best chance of delivering against our strategic goals. Work with colleagues in the Creative and Print Studio to review and QA your digital design work, ensuring it is of high quality and adheres to the University’s brand guidelines, style guide and other policies. Track user satisfaction, behaviours and feedback through qualitative and quantitative analysis and insight, with regular sentiment, reputation, and perception analysis. Be responsible for project-managing, using Agile methodologies, a selection of the University’s strategically important content and design projects. Lead or take part in virtual project teams to deliver major integrated marketing and communication projects. Confidently present your ideas, wireframes, and prototypes to stakeholders at every stage of the project, taking on board feedback, while championing an evidence-based, best practice approach.
