Salary: Negotiable up to £35k per annum.
Metalis are working with a prestigious Engineering company based in Leeds. They are well known for their design, manufacturing, and overhaul components within the automotive and rail sector
Job Role:
- To manage the measuring activities within the metrology department of a machine shop with 23 CNC machining centres.
- You will be conversant in reading engineering drawings and be a team player. The job scope entails running a Hexagon Global S Blue 12:22:10 CNC CMM.
- The Key responsibility is the measurement of machined parts and control of inspection reports ensuring that parts are inspected and available per the production schedule.
- Communication, ability to make decisions and organisational skills are key, as you will be working within a small quality team ensuring production parts concur to drawing requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge required in PC-DMIS CAD or similar + measurement software.
- Responsible for the development of programmes using customer 3D models / drawings in an accurate, timely and efficient manner. Output reports and filing in various formats.
- Must be able to communicate technical information verbally and in writing with others at all levels within the organization including customers and suppliers. Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Previous quality control experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings and otherwise have a highly proficient knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
- Knowledge of working with quality management systems
- Knowledge of visual inspection and NDT would be beneficial but not essential.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Driving License required for this roll.
- Training is available to the right candidate on the above software.
Shifts & Salary:
- Days Regular shift pattern Monday - Friday
- Salary negotiable up to £35k Per Annum
