SalaryThis role has a starting salary of £30,028 per annum, based on a 21.6 hour working week. This is pro-rated from the full-time salary of £50,047 per annum.
This is a 24-month fixed term contract/ secondment opportunity.
We are excited to be hiring a new Senior Project Manager to join our newly-created team to refresh Surrey Adult Social Care's Direct Payments offer in accordance with our newly-published, co-produced, all-age Direct Payments Strategy. Led within our fantastic Commissioning Department in Adults, Wellbeing and Health Partnerships directorate, the Direct Payments Team will be based at our Woodhatch office in Reigate. However, in this role you will also be travelling across Surrey to establish the new approach to Direct Payment across our workforce and in partnership with our providers.\

About the Team
The Direct Payments Team is led by the Head of Commissioning (Disabilities) who reports to the Director of Integrated Commissioning in the Adults, Wellbeing and Health Partnerships Directorate.
The Disabilities Commissioning Team works to a vision whereby individuals can live 'gloriously ordinary lives', following their ambitions and aspirations. Our work programmes are evidence based and innovative and we work in partnership with our colleagues across the council, in the NHS and the community / voluntary sector. We are committed to ensuring individuals' insight and ambition shapes our plans through co-production as well as engagement.
About the Role
The Direct Payments Team will take lead responsibility for the development, management and improvement of Surrey County Council Adult Social Care's Direct Payments offer, delivering the Council's 5-year strategy published in November 2023.
You will work closely alongside the Senior Operational Manager and Senior Commissioning Manager to look at transformation of the service, as well as the development of the Direct Payment clients.
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this role, your application will clearly evidence the following:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience showing development in a series of progressively more demanding relevant work/roles.
- Extensive knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures relating to business planning and financial and organisational management.
- Proven ability to manage a wide range of complex projects or programmes.
- Proven written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with established negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners/professionals.
