This role will be part of the NBA Commercial Strategy & Operations team that is responsible for title P&L, franchise Strategy and commercial operations for the high-profile NBA2K franchise.

Who We're Looking For

The Director will be instrumental in driving the long-term strategy for the NBA2K franchise across both console and mobile, ensuring financial targets are met, and coordinating analytics support within the NBA2K commercial team.

The ideal candidate will have proven credentials in defining strategies and driving growth of a consumer product or service across multiple territories. They will combine rigorous market and performance analysis alongside formulation of creative short-to-long-term strategies, and a drive to see them executed. Experience in gaming is not expected, however the candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced, consumer-focused technology company.

Candidates must be bright, passionate, and hands-on - willing to dive into details and get things done, while not losing sight of the bigger picture. They will be comfortable working with a range of junior to senior stakeholders and have experience leading small scale teams.

What You Will Do

Define long-term franchise strategy

  • Identify, define and drive innovative commercial strategies that will drive growth of the NBA2K business globally, through new games, business models, pricing strategies, partnerships, and content
  • Independently build business cases to analyze new strategic ideas, through rigorous analysis of internal data and market benchmarks
  • Clearly present findings to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Collaborate with various functional teams to turn ideas into reality and drive execution

Lead a team and coordinate insights & analytics support

  • Lead team of 3-4 junior to mid-level strategy & analytics professionals
  • Coordinate analytics support for projects across the Commercial Strategy & Operations team
  • Closely track industry trends and provide industry insights to the NBA2K team

Track and drive financial performance of the NBA2K franchise in EMEA & Asia

  • Provide regular insights into NBA2K performance in EMEA & Asia to a wide range of stakeholders, from global leadership to local marketing teams
  • Partner with various functional teams (Marketing, Sales, Product) to identify and drive ideas to help exceed operational and financial targets
  • Review and approve pricing and promotional plans for the NBA2K franchise in EMEA and Asia

What Skills Are Needed

  • 7-10 years relevant work experience, including 3+ years within a strategy, commercial or business development role in a fast-moving digital business (e.g. video games, e-commerce, subscription businesses, or other consumer internet)
  • Other relevant prior experience could be in commercial operations, strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity or in-house strategy
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant area of study (e.g. business, economics, (computer) science, mathematics)
  • Proven track record of turning strategies into reality and driving execution with cross-functional teams
  • Integrity in working with others across various levels and personality types, and ability to successfully navigate a global organization
  • Managerial experience leading (small) teams, in either a project or reporting-line setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience of clearly presenting findings
  • Ability to build business cases / financial models in Excel from scratch
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Proficiency in SQL is a plus, otherwise a willingness to learn this
  • Experience working in the video games industry is not required, but familiarity with gaming is a plus
