Job Title Director, Divisional Control Office

Investment Banking (IB) and Cross Product Operations is a dynamic, diverse, and collaborative division that provides operational support to Deutsche Bank's businesses. The Divisional Control Office (DCO) is an independent Risk Management function within Operations that executes all aspects of the bank's Operational Risk Management policies/frameworks.
In this role you will execute first line risk management by; identifying and measuring risks; reviewing remediation plans by ensuring they are robust and monitoring risks. You should have extensive experience as an energetic and dynamic leader with a track record of strategy/execution (preferably in Non Financial Risk).

Your key responsibilities
  • Drive strategy/transformation to evolve DCO function to be more proactive risk managers through leveraging Data/Analytics capabilities
  • Manage key senior stakeholders and provide an objective view on operational risk and play a proactive role across the risk management lifecycle (Identify, Assess, Measure, Report, Mitigate).
  • Manage control and risk governance forums
  • Findings Management: Perform a review of remediation completed by Operations for internal and external findings. Advise management on design and operating effectiveness and ensure that all finding lifecycle events are completed in line with Deutsche Bank's policy
  • Incident Management: Review and approve Risk Events ensuring completeness/timeliness/accuracy including Read across/Lessons learned
  • Perform Risk and Control Assessments, read across and deep dive assessments within agreed timelines to identify forward-looking risks
Your skills and experience
  • Proven experience in leading teams in an operational risk and control function or Audit within Banking Operations with proven global management capability
  • Dynamic leader with track record of strategy/execution (preferably in risk)
  • Understanding of risk management and control frameworks in a global banking control environment, with sound knowledge of banking activities, products, risk management techniques and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically with respect to governance, oversight, risk, control agendas. Strong organisational and planning skills and a track record of delivery
  • A strong communicator with proven ability in developing relationships with both senior and junior levels across a global organisation
  • Proven track record of driving transformation in risk and control
