About this opportunity
We’re looking for a Director of AI and Advanced Analytics to join our Chief Data and Analytics Office. This is an exciting new role that will lead and implement the delivery of the Bank’s AI, Machine Learning and data strategy. You’ll be leading an excellent team of expert data specialists to drive technical excellence organisation wide, in addition to ensuring safe and efficient delivery of AI and Machine Learning solutions at scale across the Bank.
In this role you will represent the CDAO at Group level discussions on all AI and Advanced Analytics matters, leading the Banks AI and Machine Learning strategy & ensuring alignment with the Bank’s broader vision and strategy. You will lead the internal and external dialogue around AI and Advanced Analytics in line with the strategic plan to build a best-in-class Centre of Excellence. You will also be responsible for evolving and delivering against the data strategy, ensuring alignment to pan-business requirements across AI and Advanced Analytics, demonstrating the highly skilled chapters that operate underneath the director.
You’ll also have plenty of opportunities for collaboration - with executive leadership across the Bank to see opportunities for AI and Advanced Analytics, and also with peers across Data Management, Data Capabilities and the broader Data & Machine Learning platform to drive delivery of the Bank’s data strategy, ensuring the Bank is following best in class delivery approaches for safe and scalable analytics. You will also establish deep alignment with Business Unit leaders to ensure the Centre of Excellence is supporting the Business Units in building their own AI and Advanced analytics capabilities.
We need someone who can provide transformative leadership and drive alignment across all AI and Advanced Analytics areas, driving innovation and excellence. We’ll also be looking for this new director to stay attuned to powerful developments in the AI and Advanced Analytics space, assess their relevance for the Bank and make recommendations for capability enhancements.

What you’ll need
  • Senior level delivery experience of Advanced Analytics products.
  • Understanding of industry standard process for Advanced Analytics delivery including track record of end-to-end delivery of data and ML products in a complex environment.
  • Experience leading large cross functional teams.
  • Strong influencing and relationship management skills at a senior level and able to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Deep understanding of the Bank’s data strategy or equivalent knowledge of delivering an AI and Advanced Analytics focussed data strategy elsewhere.
  • Financial analysis and controls - the ability to interpret the firm’s financial information, identify key issues and put in place appropriate controls and measures
