Job description

The Printing Charity is an occupational charity focussed on providing scalable, agile and sustainable services that support the needs of people who work or have worked in the print, paper, packaging and graphics sectors.  

To continue to provide relevant services and support now and in the future, a new role is being created to combine the charity’s welfare activities which include: financial assistance grants, support to residents at two sheltered homes, and the management and development of its outsourced 24/7 helpline, introduced in 2019, and now available to 26,000 people working in 300+ companies in the sectors it supports.

Circa £65,000 per annum, depending on experience
Flexible location across the UK or based in Crawley

The Director of Services will lead the integration, development, delivery and growth of these key services. They will also ensure service quality, good safeguarding practice and impact in line with the charity’s objectives.

This key role will be instrumental in setting a future direction for The Printing Charity, to ensure we best serve all parts of our community. Working as part of the senior leadership team and reporting to the CEO, the Director of Services will lead a passionate and professional team and operate both strategic and operational to ensure exceptional support.

We are seeking those with the following skills areas:

  • Demonstrable leadership experience
  • Experience of managing and delivering a helpline (in-house or third party), with a clear understanding of how to leverage the best possible support
  • Thorough understanding of welfare service design, delivery, innovation and communicating impact
