Description of Post The National Civil Engineering Consortium was formed in 2021 to develop a suite of consortium led apprenticeships in Civil Engineering. The operations management of the consortium has been assigned to ATU, who are also the academic coordinating provider for this suite of apprenticeships. To support this key strategic initiative to grow the number of Civil Engineering graduates nationally, the consortium/ATU is seeking a Director of Civil Engineering apprenticeship to lead the consortium operations and promotional activities with all stakeholders including the HEA, NAO, Solas, academic providers, industry bodies, employers etc. This post will have the direct support from a marketing officer and an administrative officer as well as strong links with the apprenticeship officer. Essential Qualifications Applicants for this position must have as a minimum: An Honours Degree (2.2 or higher) in a relevant Level 8 degree [as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)], or equivalent Not less than five years relevant and acceptable post qualifications experience Excellent organisational and management experience and a proven track record in leadership and stakeholder management. Demonstrated experience of management or collaborative work with staff across a broad range of functions such as some/all of the following – Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Quality Assurance and/or Academic Affairs. Strong communication, people management and interpersonal skills. The candidate should be comfortable operating at senior executive level. Excellent planning skills including knowledge and experience of data collection, audit preparation, budgeting, financial reporting, report writing, business planning etc. Capable of exercising judgement and making decisions on a wide range of administrative matters.
