About us:
At Macmillan you'll find talented people working together to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer. We're going all out to find even better ways to help even more people who need our support. Our values are at the heart of who we are and everything we do, inspiring our thinking and guiding our actions.

About the role:

Macmillan is embarking on a period of major transformation in our strategy, structures and culture. We are looking to appoint to a newly created role of Director of Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy, to play a vital organisational leadership role in how we redefine Macmillan’s social impact.

Huge opportunity comes with this role, as you join the dynamic and ambitious leadership team of our new Partnerships directorate - driving cutting-edge propositions to diversify and accelerate our impact and income.

You will set the strategic direction for Macmillan to build bigger and bolder partnerships with high value audiences. As well as setting a new level of ambition for how we partner with the private sector, creating a major new philanthropy appeal, you will lead our innovative commercial investments portfolio to improve cancer outcomes and drive financial returns.

To build on Macmillan’s track record of award-winning partnerships across retail, healthcare and the financial sector, we are looking for a highly commercial leader who inspires others to be bold and ambitious, whilst embodying our values and driving culture change.

As a senior organisational leader, you will also have the chance to lead major organisational initiatives to build the culture, capability and effectiveness in order to transform this top charity.

About you:

The skills and experience that we are looking for in the role are:

  • Demonstrable experience of leading sector-leading income generation functions, securing and growing sustainable multi-million-pound relationships.
  • Experience of having personally led and delivered multi-million-pound philanthropic appeals.
  • Strong commercial delivery and a demonstrable track record of income generation.
  • A strong record of collaboration to build transformative propositions which achieve a step-change in impact and income.
  • Experience of successful major donor recruitment and retention, corporate relationship building and leading successful donor campaigns.
  • Demonstrable experience of providing strategic leadership and building income generation capability in a complex organisation.
  • A track record of successfully leading multi-disciplinary teams through periods of change.

Recruitment Process:
Application deadline: 8th July 2024

The selection process for this role will consist of a panel interview including technical and leadership competency-based questions, followed by a role-relevant presentation task and further leadership and values-based questions.

To ensure fairness and consistency to select the best candidate for this role, all our applications are anonymised up until an interview has been confirmed.

So we can support you to be your best during the application or interview process, please contact Macmillan TA Team TATeam@macmillan.org.uk for advice and reasonable adjustments.
