Job description

Wiltshire Community Foundation is the county’s largest independent funder, delivering £2million in grants in 2022/23. We provide professional philanthropy advice to people who want to ensure their local charitable giving is delivered effectively. We highlight the needs of local communities and the solutions which are offered via our local voluntary sector. We are passionate about connecting people who care with causes that matter. But no doubt, you will already have looked us up!

Job Purpose:

This role is perfect if you are passionate about philanthropy and excited by the opportunity of inspiring people to give well. It offers an opportunity to connect with a variety of people from a wide range of backgrounds who share an interest in changing local lives. It’s a role that requires excellent relationship management and an ability to translate a donor’s top line ideas about their charitable activity into a tailored giving strategy or fund set-up that will meet their needs and those of our local communities. Identifying, researching and connecting with individuals, businesses, corporates, charitable trusts and professional advisors with a connection to Wiltshire assures the role has variety and no two days are the same.

We work together to achieve our income targets and along with the other members of the Development Team, you will need to be able to write a compelling proposal, an inspiring impact report and be well versed in fundraising regulation. And, we have a new Salesforce CRM system which provides us with a wealth of opportunity for our prospect research and donor stewardship.

With almost 50 years of experience working with local philanthropists, we have lots of stories to tell and you will play a key role in raising our profile. Working with our Marketing Team, you will help us to develop our storytelling, impact reporting, campaigns, and events. Bringing yet more variety to the role.

And, as a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will have an opportunity to shape our next 5 year organisational strategy and play a leading role in the development of our annual business development plans.

Our team is growing and although this role currently has no direct reports, our plan is to increase our recruitment over the next 12 months and add further resource to the Development Team. We are a values-based organisation, committed to ensuring our team has an opportunity to learn and thrive. Our office is busy and friendly, with free parking and far too many biscuits!

Interested? We hope so.
