UCL is an organisation that is deeply committed to sustainability. We have academics who are leading the way in the field. We have world class researchers working to find the solutions that will help make the world a better, more sustainable place. We have a large, diverse, energetic, highly engaged and intelligent student population we’re empowering to become the sustainability leaders of the future. We’ve made the climate crisis one of our Grand Challenges, collaborating across academic disciplines to seek solutions for this most pressing of issues.
In short, we think we’re already doing well. But we want to raise the bar even higher. As our next Director of Sustainability, you’d play an essential part in achieving this.

How do we best engage and empower our community of academic and professional services staff, and our students? How do we shape and influence the debate, not just within our university but across politics, the media and wider society?
These questions, and many others, will be at the top of your agenda in this job.
As our Director of Sustainability, you'll lead a team of passionate and committed professional sustainability staff, and also work to indirectly lead, and engage and inspire, our academics, students and green champions, ensuring that our world-class university has sustainability at its core and that sustainability is considered in all that we do. With regular access to our most senior leadership team, you’ll be able to use your considerable communication skills to influence mindset, decisions and policy at the highest level.
