Job description

Director of Therapy Services

Pace is a groundbreaking children's charity that delivers specialist education and therapy to children with motor disorders such as cerebral palsy. With 25 years of experience, we have developed a unique approach based on the belief that every child has the ability to learn and progress. Our services include early intervention and support for children 0-4 years and their families, school programs for children aged 5-14, outreach programs in other educational settings, and training for healthcare and educational professionals working with children with cerebral palsy or related disorders.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as the Director of Therapy Services at The Pace Centre located in Aylesbury. As the Director of Therapy Services, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the therapy programs offered by Pace. Your role will involve developing and implementing therapy strategies, collaborating with other departments, supervising therapy staff, and ensuring the highest quality of Therapy Services for children with motor disorders.

Person Specification

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, or a related field
  • You must be a registered Healthcare Professional in a nationally recognised body i.e. HCPC
  • Experience in a leadership role within a therapy or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of motor disorders such as cerebral palsy and their impact on children's development
  • Experience of managing a commercial service desirable 
  • Strong budget management experience
  • Strong understanding of Therapy techniques and interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with other professionals
  • Passion for working with children and dedication to improving their quality of life
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with advancements in the field
