Director of Workforce and Organisational Development
Payscale: Executive Senior Pay Band 10 £119,149 to £123,856
Location: Ty Dysgu, Nantgarw, Cardiff, CF15 7QQ
Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week (An agile working model to allow flexibility between home and office-based working.)
We are recruiting for a Director of Workforce and Organisational Development for Health Education & Improvement Wales, the strategic workforce organisation and statutory education body for NHS Wales.
This is a Board level post and a key member of our Executive Team. It is an exciting opportunity for a high-performing, collaborative leader to help shape the health workforce in Wales in line with A Healthier Wales and our Workforce Strategy for Health and Social Care. The successful candidate will be a very senior workforce professional, who has experience of working at Board level and across sectors, ideally in the NHS. The role would suit an individual who is innovative and forward thinking, committed to the wellbeing of our workforce, and equality and diversity. Role modelling the values and behaviours of the organisation, and compassionate leadership are fundamental requirements.
This is a significant leadership role at both organisational and national level requiring a flexible, adaptable and responsive approach. Internally it provides leadership to the Workforce & OD Directorate who support and enable the organisation through innovative people and OD strategies and programmes, reflecting our commitments to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and our values and behaviours. From a system perspective the role leads on national leadership development and succession planning, compassionate cultures and workplaces, workforce strategy and planning, strategic careers, and attraction programmes, and supports the development of the people profession.
As a national organisation close working with NHS colleagues as well as government, professional bodies and other key stakeholders is an essential part of the role, at Wales and UK level.
